Autism Awareness Day observed at District Disbaled School
Jharsuguda: On Autism Awareness Day, a poignant event unfolded at the District Disabled School campus in Budapada Buromaal, where a human chain was organized with mentally challenged children. This event shed light on the challenges faced by individuals with autism, emphasizing their unique world and the complexities of social interaction they encounter.
Founder and psychologist Bibekananda Mishra shared insights into the intricate nature of autism, highlighting how children diagnosed within 19 months of birth often create their world due to the condition. Mishra’s expertise underscored the importance of understanding and addressing the needs of individuals with autism, particularly in combating the pervasive sense of loneliness they may experience.
The Chief Instructor of the Intellectual Disability Division, Sulochana Sahu, along with Pritirani Das, Pallavi Bhoi, Laxmi Priya Bhoi, and Pujarani Sa, contributed valuable comments during the event. Their collective efforts in organizing the human chain and advocating for autism awareness demonstrated a commitment to inclusivity and support for individuals with diverse abilities.
