Urban Local Body Election will be held on Time: EC
Jharsuguda: The Urban Local Body Election will take place on Time said by the State Election Commissioner Dr. Ajit Kumar Tripathy, who had visited Jharsuguda on Thursday evening.
He took a review meeting with the Dist. Administration Officials and discussed on various arrangements for the upcoming Urban Local Body elections like security measures, inspections of buildings where the election would take place and other various issues.
He said that �At present all things are on schedule and within 4th July the entire list would reach to the election commission office. The election dates are yet to be finalized but it is known that no local body would stay more than five years. Tentatively the election would take place on September first week or August Last week said by Dr. Ajit Tripathy.
For the upcoming local body election even the political parties in the town have geared up by starting all types of developmental work in various wards at full pace.
In Jharsuguda, there are 65,833 voters in 24 wards where as in Brajrajnagar there are 52,756 voters in 23 wards. The total booths in Jharsuguda are 72 where as in Brajrajnagar there are around 61 polling booths.
Last year the total Voter in Jharsuguda were 56,532 whereas in Brajrajnagar were 53,375.
In this meeting, Dist. Collector Niranjan Sahu, ADM Bhibhuti Bhusan Behera, Sub Collector Sukant Tripathy, S.P. Dilip Ku. Deo along with other officials were present in this meeting.
