Mass Education Minister Lays Foundation Stones for Projects Worth ₹3.60 Crore

Jharsuguda: Odisha’s School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond visited Jharsuguda district on Friday and laid the foundation stones for various development projects worth ₹3.60 crore.
During his visit, the minister, along with Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, toured Laikera and Kirmira blocks and inaugurated multiple developmental works. Of the total amount, projects worth ₹2.80 crore were launched in Kirmira block, while ₹80 lakh worth of projects were laid in Laikera block.
Under the Scheduled Caste Development Department, cultural buildings worth ₹50 lakh were inaugurated at Kirmira and Laikera. Additionally, a *Subhadra Bhavan* was laid at Laikera with an estimated cost of ₹30 lakh. Several other development projects were also initiated during the visit.
On the occasion, Minister Gond emphasized the need to ensure that state government welfare schemes effectively reach the people so that citizens can fully benefit from them. He said the state government is committed to improving the education sector and informed that since the formation of the government, 15,000 teachers have already been appointed. He further announced that more teacher recruitments will take place in the coming years and that contractual teacher appointments will be discontinued.
As part of the visit, the minister and the MLA also distributed fruits to students at the government primary school in Bagdihi under Laikera block.
Jharsuguda Collector Kunal Motiram Chavan, ITDA PD Sanjeev Patel, the BDOs of Laikera and Kirmira, several district-level officials, and BJP workers were present during the programme.
