One held for allegedly duping youths on pretext of providing Job
Jharsuguda : In a significant crackdown, Jharsuguda Airport Police has arrested a 25-year-old lift technician for allegedly defrauding multiple youths by falsely promising them jobs at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) Jharsuguda.
Police identified the accused as Pintu Nanda (25) a resident of Bauriguda Village in Sambalpur District. He was working as Lift Technician at Jharsuguda DHH Hospital through outsourcing agency.
As per the complainant filed by one Haresh Kishan (25) of Badbahal Village of Kolabira Block at Police station, regarding one Pintu Nanda who promise him for engaging him at Jharsuguda District headquarter Hospital as attendant and took a cash of Rs.60,000/- each from him and another person of his village named Hemanta Khadia near DHH Jharsuguda, three months back.
Police said, “On 21st September 2024, the complainant again transferred Rs 20,000 to Pintu Nanda’s Mobile number after which he sent a fake joining letter and told to join on 1st October 2024 but when complainant reached he told to join on 05th October, Later when he went on 5th October and Pintu again told that to join on 10th October after that when he called Pintu Nanda’s mobile number his mobile number was switched off. Later the complainant came to know that the accuse Pintu Nanda had also duped some other person of his village on pretext of providing jobs to them in DHH, Jharsuguda on various post. Later when the complainant contacted CDMO then he came to know that No attendant post was available at DHH, Jharsuguda and Pintu Nanda has cheated them by giving fake joining letter and misappropriated money. He alleged that Pintu had taken about Rs 4.46 Lakhs.
“A case has been registered under various section of BNS Act. and investigation is going on , as the money has been not recovered yet. If the money is his account then it will be freezed.” said Jharsuguda Additional SP. Lambodar Buda
