Jharsuguda: In a significant stride towards academic expansion, Laxmi Narayan Degree College in Jharsuguda has received official approval from the Government of Odisha, Department of Higher Education, for the introduction of Post Graduate (PG) courses starting from the academic session 2024-25.
According to a letter dated February 16, 2024, from the Government of Odisha, Department of Higher Education, Laxmi Narayan Degree College has been granted permission to offer PG courses in various disciplines. The college will introduce a Master of Arts (M.A) in English with 16 seats, Odia and Hindi with 24 seats each, a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Mathematics with 16 seats, and a Master of Commerce (M.Com) with 32 seats.
The approval comes with certain terms and conditions outlined in the official communication. Laxmi Narayan Degree College is permitted to run the PG courses in a self-financing mode, emphasizing that no third-party involvement in the operation of these courses should be allowed. Additionally, if the college requires additional faculty, it is mandated to hire retired faculties exclusively.
