3 arrested for looting a collection agent of a bank by showing toy guns
Jharsuguda : Laikera Police on Wednesday arrested 3 accused in connection with looting a collection agent of Axis Bank, Jharsuguda Branch under Laikera Police station limits by showing two toy pistols.
Police identified the three accused Ranjit Prasad (32), a resident of Village Dengsargi of Sambalpur District, Biswajit Mahananda alias Chiku (22), a resident of Sarbahal, Dist. Jharsuguda and Sitaram Sadangi (32), village of Sargidihi, Bamra under Sambalpur District.
As per sources, as per the complaint filed by one Soumyaranjan Panda (24), who works as a collection agent in Axis Bank, Jharsuguda Branch. On 10th July he had gone for collecting loan installments at Bagedihi, Telidhi, Tumbadihi, and at around 1.45 pm, while he was returning from Tumbadihi to Jharsuguda on his bicycle after collecting loan installments from the customers of village Bagedihi, Telidhi and Tumbadihi, four unknown miscreants chased him in two bikes and intercepted him near Tumbadidhi Jungle and assaulted and looted his mobiles phones, office tablets and cash of Rs. 2 Lakhs, which was collected from the customers and fled away from the spot.
Soon after the report of the crime, a special team was formed under the direction of SP, Jharsuguda and based on the local intelligence and cyber cell, police team conducted raids in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Rengali areas and able to nab the three accused involved in this case and recovered all looted articles, weapon of offence and motorcycle within 48 hours. During verification of crime records, it was found that the accused persons were also involved in robbery and dacoity cases held at Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Sambalpur District. Meanwhile Police is conducting raids to nab the fourth accused in the case. Police has seized Cash of Rs. 2,00,000/-, Two nos. of Toy Pistols, 4 Nos. of Mobile Phones, one Knife, one office tablets, One Honda Shine Motorcycle. (Regd. No. OD -15-Q- 3447)
