Jharsuguda Police busted an Interdistrict Gang of Robbers and recovered stolen property more than 20 Lakhs

Jharsuguda : In a major achievement, Jharsuguda police led by Brajrajnagar SDPO Dilip Das had busted an Inter district Gang of Robbers and recovered stolen property worth more than 20 Lakhs.

Police identified the two accused as Babu Kang alias Sarfaraz Khan (31), along with Md. Irfan (31) both resident of Dhanupali in Sambalpur District.  Police has also arrested two receivers of the goods identified as Abhishek Kumar (25), resident of Ainthapali, Sambalpur and Pramod Kumar Mishra alias Bulu, resident of Bhatli of Bargarh District.

As reported, the two accused, have been a veteran criminal who has been linked into several robbery cases registered at Belpahar, Sambalpur, Kolabira, Sundargarh, Brajrajnagar etc. Jharsuguda Police had formed a special team under the leadership of Brajrajnagar SDPO Dilip Das who had made two attempts to nab the duo but after failing to get hold twice, Brajrajnagar SDPO and his team finally nabbed them at Belpahar. Based on the interrogation, a huge amount of stolen property was recovered. Meanwhile the two receivers of the stolen property were also arrested.

Jharsuguda Superintendent of Police Bikash Kumar Das said, “We have been tracking these two-veteran criminals since long time but were unable to nab them as they were continuously changing their hideout and changing their mobile numbers after committing the crime at various police station. After getting reliable information, we arrested the duo from Belpahar and based on the interrogation we have recovered the stolen property worth more than 20 Lakhs which included trucks (Tata 709), 5 Motorcycle, Tyres, 10 inverter batteries, gas cylinder, Sony TV, DVR, CCTV, Mobile boxes, inverter battery. These accused are linked to around 33 cases lodged in various police stations. The accused will be forward to court today. ”
