Jharsuguda Cardiac Care Hospital scheduled to be complete by 30th June 2021
Jharsuguda : A100 bedded Cardiac Care Hospital whose construction has been going on at Jharsuguda is expected to be complete by 30th�June 2021. In this regard Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kisore Das along with the Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of this project on Friday.
As per report, Cardiac Care Hospital is being established at Jharsuguda at 5.05 Acres of land through PPP mode, near Jharsuguda New District Headquarter Hospital, with financial support from the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL). The Total estimated budget for the construction and the cost of the medical equipment for the cardiac care hospital is around Rs. 75 Cr.
Subsequently, M/s Care hospitals has been selected as the operating partner and the concession agreement has been signed on 25th December 2016. M/s Care hospitals have offered 50% of annual bed days reserved for free treatment (which Operator can claim under BSKY Biju Swastya Kalyan Yojana).
Additionally, a Cancer Care Hospital will also come up at Jharsuguda in PPP mode. As per the information provided, a 120 bedded Cancer Care Hospital with 2 LINAC�s ( LINAC is the medical device most commonly used for external beam radiation treatments for patients with cancer) and facilities like critical care beds, general beds, daycare beds for Chemotherapy, dialysis beds and pre and post operation beds will be set up.
The total capital cost of this project will be funded out of the District Mineral Fund (DMF) . The estimated budget of this project is expected to be Rs.168.72 Cr. The capital cost has been allocated out of DMF funds on 6th March 2019. For this, even 5.65 acres of land has been alienated in favour of Health and Family Welfare Department vide RoR dated 11th January 2019. In this project the Health and Family Welfare Department (H&FW) will design, build, finance and procure medical equipment through financial support from DMF.
During this the private operator of this Cancer Care Hospital will provide technical support during construction and will provide the service for Installation of Medical equipment, Deploy and mobilize staffs, Operate, manage, maintain and provide cancer care services and Maintain and replace medical equipment as required.� The projects draft bid documents have been approved by the Finance Department on 11th�February 2021.
