IB Thermal, 16/03/2015: OPGC cricket team has won the OPGC Invitation cup �T20 cricket tournament by defeating Progressive Cricket Club of Jharsuguda in an one sided final match held here on Sunday. Batting first, Progressive club made 104 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. In response OPGC successfully chased the target in 13 overs with just the loss of one wicket that of captain Mr Deepak Tripathy. Mr Waltier Toppo and Mr. Nitesh Agarwal made a partnership of 70 runs for the 2nd wicket to see the home team through. Mr Waltier Toppo who made 40 runs in 20 balls, was declared Man of the Match. Mr Nitesh Agarwal scored 195 runs in the whole tournament that too remaining unbeaten and, was declared Man of The Series.
�Dr. Bijaylal Biswal, Chief Medical Officer was the chief guest of the concluding function and gave away prizes to the winning and runner-up teams.� He suggested OPGC to keep up the spirit and organise the tournament regularly every year and promised every official support from the OPGC management in this regard. Volunteers, team members, umpires from OCA panel, scorer and coaches of the two teams were felicitated for their contribution.
