Jharsuguda: Jharsuguda police arrested three persons and recovered two stolen mobile phones, cash and a motorcycle while detecting a burglary case within 24 hours under the ongoing “Operation Netra”.
Police identified the accused as Shiva Mahanand alias Naik (31) and Suraj Sonkar (34), both residents of Shantinagar in Buromal, and Bharadwaj Kak alias Mandal (24) of Buromal Harijanpada in Jharsuguda.
According to police, the complainant alleged that unidentified persons broke open the door of his house on the night of July 17 and fled with two mobile phones and cash.
During the investigation, police used technical surveillance and intelligence inputs to identify and apprehend the suspects. Police claimed that the three confessed to their involvement in the burglary during interrogation.
The accused also allegedly disclosed that they had stolen a Hero HF Deluxe motorcycle bearing registration number OD-23-J-0749 from near Jhanda Chowk on the evening of July 18. A separate case was registered at Jharsuguda police station in connection with the motorcycle theft.
Acting on information provided by the accused, the investigating team recovered the stolen motorcycle, two mobile phones and ₹900 in cash from their possession, police said.
