Surprise Jail Inspection Leads to Seizure of Prohibited Articles

Jharsuguda: A surprise inspection was conducted today at the District Jail, Jharsuguda, under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Jharsuguda, to assess security arrangements and prevent the entry and circulation of prohibited articles inside the jail premises.
During the inspection, barracks, common areas, and inmate belongings were thoroughly searched. Several prohibited articles, including bidis, tobacco products, gutkha sachets, matchboxes, razor blades, and a lighter, were recovered and seized.
Security arrangements, CCTV coverage, inmate management, and visitor monitoring mechanisms were also reviewed. Necessary instructions were issued to jail authorities to further strengthen security measures and ensure strict compliance with prison regulations.
