Jharsuguda: In a shocking incident on Monday afternoon, a 25-year-old youth was killed while another sustained critical injuries after four unidentified assailants allegedly attacked them with machetes near Belpahar Railway Crossing Gate in Jharsuguda district.
The deceased has been identified as Rahul Mahato, while the injured Akash Sahu was initially treated at Lakhanpur Hospital and later shifted to Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital for advanced treatment.
Both victims are residents of Junadihi College Pada, Belpahar.
Senior police officials including Jharsuguda SP G. R. Raghavendra, Brajrajnagar SDPO, and Belpahar Police reached the spot soon after the incident and have launched a detailed investigation into the brutal attack
