Inmate reunites with her family returns to Rajasthan after Successful Treatment at Mission Ashra
Jharsuguda : A mentally challenged woman resident of Mission Ashra at Katapali, Jharsuguda, run by the District Administration, District Mineral Fund and People’s Forum, has recovered and returned to her home in Rajasthan.
It was reported that Rekha was rescued by the Jharsuguda Railway Police and admitted to the Sakhi Center at the Jharsuguda Govt. Hospital. After counseling the staff of the Sakhi Center, they came to know that Rekha’s mental condition was not good. In order to improve Rekha’s mental condition, the staff of the Jharsuguda Sakhi Center admitted Rekha to Mission Ashra in the first week of November.
With the care, attention, regular medication and counselling of the centre staff, Rekha’s mental condition improved. After getting better, Rekha told the centre staff that her home address is Luhrobadi, village in Baran district of Rajasthan, post/ps- Kishanganj. Later, with the help of Jharsuguda Railway Police, Rekha’s brother and mother came from faraway Rajasthan and today reached the Mission Ashra premises to inquire about Rekha’s condition and asked her to take Rekha back. Rekha’s brother and mother were overjoyed to see Rekha after so many days. According to her family, Rekha had been suffering from mental illness for 9 years. That is why she had left home and fled somewhere about 6 months ago. The other inmates of the Centre expressed great joy on seeing Rekha return home. Rekha, who had built a good friendship with the inmates in a short time, even cried while holding the inmates as they went home. As Rekha expressed her desire to take the bamboo products made at the center, the center staff gave her the products as a gift.
