OPGC conducts eye check-up camp at Bagmunda GP under CSR.

Jharsuguda: As part of its CSR initiative, Odisha Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (OPGC) organized an eye check-up camp today at the Gram Panchayat office of Bagmunda under the Lakhanpur block of Jharsuguda district. The camp was conducted in collaboration with Trilochan Netralaya, Sambalpur. The camp was inaugurated by Sukanta Mohaptra, Senior VP (Operations) of OPGC, in the presence of Sunima Pradhan, Sarpanch of Bagmunda Panchayat; Co-founder & Sindhu Nandini Sahu of Trilochan Netralaya; Himansu Bhusan Behera (Senior Manager, CSR-OPGC); and members of the OPGC CSR and Trilochan Netralaya teams.
The medical team from Trilochan Netralaya, Sambalpur, conducted eye screenings, focusing on cataracts, vision problems, and other eye-related conditions. The camp, which ran from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, saw participation from 226 patients across 10 villages in Bagmunda Panchayat, including Bhanarkhol, Thebra, Gudlimal, Singharpur, Sagarpali, Lakhanpur, Limeitikra, and others. Among the attendees, 38 patients were diagnosed with cataract and were taken to receive free cataract surgery at Trilochan Netralaya, Sambalpur. In addition, 147 patients were provided with free prescription glasses.
The camp was coordinated by OPGC CSR team members Himansu Bhusan Behera, Tapas Panda, Rajendra Sa, Romiyan Chattria and Debasis Pattanaik.
Earlier this year, OPGC organized similar eye check-up camps in Kushraloi and Kumarbandh Gram Panchayat. The next camp is scheduled to take place in Chandinimal Gram Panchayat. Additionally, OPGC plans to organize eye check-up camps for students in peripheral schools of ITPS, Banharpali.
