District Level Paddy Collection Committee Meeting
Jharsuguda : District Level Paddy Collection Committee meeting for Kharif year 2024-25 has been held. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Collector Aboli Sunil Narvane at the District Mineral Fund Auditorium. The Revenue Minister’s representative, Zilla Parishad Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer Prabir Kumar Nayak, farmer representatives and various district level officers along with millers were present. As per the discussion in the meeting, for Kharif year 2024-25, 32 pax and 28 self-help groups will be purchased in the district from next December 9th at Rs. 2300 per quintal. This year, R.I. or VAW or PEO will be responsible for each mandi as the nodal officer. The District Collector informed the meeting that the mandi will be well managed under the supervision of these nodal officers. This year, crop theft has been completely banned. The District Collector has warned that action will be taken against the concerned persons if information is received regarding crop theft in any mandi. The District Collector said that the PAX and self-help groups will ensure that the purchase of paddy is done in a systematic manner. The farmers, who are facing the threat of drought due to low rainfall in the district this year, drew the attention of the District Collector and said that the farmers will not be able to buy paddy of FQ quality. The District Collector informed that the appropriate forum will be informed in this regard. This year, 21729 farmers have registered for paddy purchase in the district. District Supply Officer Manas Ranjan Mohapatra gave information about paddy purchase in the mandi, token period, responsibilities and roles of nodal officers and supervisors, etc.
