Annual General Meetings Highlight Growth and Change in Odisha’s Hospitality Sector

Jharsuguda : The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western Odisha (HRAWO) convened its Annual General Body Meeting at Hotel Meghdoot, drawing 75 delegates from districts including Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Sundergarh. The meeting commenced at 3:00 PM and served as a pivotal platform for discussing key issues impacting the hospitality industry in the region.
During the meeting, the existing office bearers�comprising President Jasbir Singh Hora, Secretary� Abhishek Kumar Lath, and Treasurer� �Gopal Krishna Samantray�were dissolved, marking the end of their tenure from 2018 to August 2024. Elections for the new committee were conducted, resulting in the appointment of� Ashis Palit as President,� �Rabi Ranjan Pujari as Vice President, and� Gunjan Poddar as General Secretary, all serving a two-year term from September 2024 to August 2026.
Shortly after, at 6:00 PM, the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha (HRAO) held its Executive Committee and Annual General Meeting at Hotel Orchard. A total of 95 hotel members attended this session. Secretary General� Miland Gupta presented a comprehensive report, outlining the association’s progress and future goals. Chairman� �J.K. Mohanty emphasized the critical role of HRAO in promoting the hospitality sector both within Odisha and beyond.
President Srinivas Subudhi highlighted the increasing significance of Western Odisha within the HRAO framework, advocating for greater collaboration and support for local hospitality businesses. The meeting also launched a new membership drive aimed at expanding HRAO’s reach and influence.
