Over Rs. 51 Lakhs fraudulently transferred to contractor account without any approval
Jharsuguda :�The Executive Officer of Jharsuguda Municipality, Dilip Mohanty has filed an FIR in Jharsuguda Police station on Thursday night regarding fraudulently transferring a total of Rs. 51,89,191.00 amount to one contractor account namely Jagajjiban Dash by the Union Bank of Jharsuguda with any approval from the Municipality account.
As per the FIR lodged by the Complainant Dillip Kumar Mohanty (59), the Executive Officer, Jharsuguda Municipality, presented a written report that some unknown culprits have committed cheating an amount of Rs.51,89,191.00 on the following dates has been transmitted to one Jagajjiban Dash account by Union Bank, Jharsuguda without any approval of the Municipality Office, from 24.09.2021 to 07.11.2023 and 23.11.2023 to 02.02.2024, an amount Rs. 6,45,471 on Dt. 25.07.2023, Rs, 22,68,660 on Dt. 22.08.2023, Rs 22,75,060 on dt. 21.10.2023 has been fraudulently transferred to Jagajjiban Dash (contractor) by preparing forged RTGS and documents without the knowledge of the accountant or any staff.
Similarly, Even the Union Bank, Jharsuguda Branch head has also lodged an FIR at Jharsuguda Police station regarding of theft of three original letters of authority/mandate of customer of payment.
Based on the complaints, two cases have been registered at Jharsuguda Police Station. Police officials have launched an�investigation into�this case.
When contacted, the Jharsuguda Municipality Executive Officer Dilip Mohanty said, �We have lodged the FIR and presently the case in under investigation.�
