Missing Man reunites with his family members after one year
Jharsuguda : In a heart warming tale of resilience and compassion, Sanjay Sirasate’s journey from the People’s Forum for Men Mentally Ill Rehabilitation Center at Rajpur Katapali, Mission Ashalok, Odisha, to his home in Maharashtra, concluded with a joyful reunion.
Sanjay, a mentally ill man, was rescued over a year ago by the dedicated team at Mission Ashalok near Sanjeevani Hospital in Jharsuguda, Odisha, with the assistance of local residents. Under the care of Mission Ashalok’s staff, which included services, regular medication, counselling, therapy, and vocational training, Sanjay’s mental health significantly improved. His recovery led him to remember his home address in Maharashtra.
The efforts of Ashalok’s counselors to trace Sanjay’s family were fruitful when they contacted Chakur Police Station in Latur District, Maharashtra, and informed his family members. On April 20, 2024, Sanjay’s father, brother, sister-in-law, and two nephews arrived at Mission Ashalok, marking the beginning of an emotional reunion.
On April 23, 2024, amidst a gathering of esteemed guests including �Balgobind Mishra (President of Senior Citizens Association of Jharsuguda), Bibekananda Mishra (Founder of Jhadeswari Special School), Mrs. Kabita Panda (Educationist and Social Worker), Mandakini Satapathy (Lecturer and Poet), and representatives from Young Star Charitable Trust, the reunion program unfolded.
During the program, the guests were introduced to the cultural heritage of Odisha through the presentation of Lord Jagannath idols, symbolizing unity and harmony. Sanjay’s family, overwhelmed with joy, expressed their gratitude by felicitating Sanjay Kumar Jethy, Assistant Vice President of Our People’s Forum and Program Head of Western Zone, with flowers, watches, sweets, and Maharashtra’s renowned Chuda.
