Death toll rise to 8 in JSW BPSL Bus Mishap

Jharsuguda : The death toll of JSW Bhushan Power & Steel Limited Employees killed in bus accident rose to eight, while 9 others who are critical are getting treated in VIMSAR Burla and Samleswari Nursing Home, Burla.

Police identified the deceased employees as Pankaj Kumar Jha (42) a resident of Belloun in Darbhanga District in Bihar, Rajendra Prasad Diwedi (35) , resident of Baratola in Satna of Madhya Pradesh , Preetipal Singh (37), a resident of Mango in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, Sher Bahadur Yadav (35), a resident of Phaphamanu, Dist. Praygraj , Uttarpradesh, Rajesh Singh (38) , a resident of Jigna in Chhapra District in Bihar , Dhan Kumar Rai (38) , a resident of Rengali , Sambalpur, Suraj Thakur (27) , a resident of Bidyanagar , Jharsuguda , Vikash Kumar (35) , a resident of Shivosagar, Bihar.

As per report, out of 9 critically injured, 7 employees are getting treated VIMSAR Burla, while 1 employee is getting treated at Samleswari Nursing home, Burla., 1 has been referred to Vikash multi-specialty Hospital, Bargarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari and Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishor Das had expressed their grief over the tragic incident and took to twitter to wish for the early recovery of those injured.

“It’s a very unfortunate incident. We are assuring to provide compensation as per company policy norms. Additionally, the company will also bear all the expenses for the cremation of the deceased and sending the bodies to the family members to their respective homes.” Said by Public Relation Officer Pramod Kumar Patra, JSW BPSL

As per report, on Friday evening at around 6:30 pm, JSW BPSL Route no. 15 bus (bearing no. OD 23 M 8131) carrying their Employees from Sambalpur towards Jharsuguda, when a Coal Laden Truck (bearing no. OD -16 G 0950) coming from the opposite side collided head on and dragged the bus for a few meters at Sarbahal near Nikhil Dhaba. The collision was so intense that the employees sitting on the left side of the bus had sustained severe injuries. Immediately the local people and other employees had shifted the injured to the Jharsuguda District headquarter hospital.

Chief District Medical Officer Dr. Dolamani Patel Said, “Yesterday around 19 injured had arrived at Jharsuguda DHH, among which 4 people were dead and 7 people were referred to VIMSAR Burla and presently, one 1 injured has been under treatment at Jharsuguda DHH, whose condition is stable.”
