Jharsuguda : The 2nd Ashok Mishra Memorial District Knock-Out Football Tournament commenced with a bang at the H Katapali Football Ground on Sunday, drawing fervent crowds and showcasing the spirit of football in the region. Organized by the District Athletic Association Jharsuguda, this prestigious tournament promises thrilling matches and intense competition among the sixteen participating teams.
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including veteran footballers of the district, Sapan Mujumdar, Sanjiv Kumar Ghosh and Odisha Pencak Silat Secretary Prem Singh Thapa. Their invaluable contribution to the sport was acknowledged as they graced the event, inspiring the aspiring footballers and adding prestige to the tournament.
The responsibility of officiating the matches was entrusted to a team of experienced referees, namely P Rajeswar Rao, Ramani Majhi, Agasti Hatipata, and Amit Kumar Bag.
