Jharsuguda : In anticipation of the upcoming General Elections, an inter-state border meeting was convened at the DMF Conference Hall in Jharsuguda on Wednesday. The meeting aimed to foster collaboration and information exchange between bordering districts to ensure the smooth conduct of elections.
Addressing the media, Northern Range Inspector General (IG) Himanshu Kumar Lal outlined the roadmap for coordination. “We will share all relevant data with neighboring border districts and enhance communication at all check posts. Rigorous enforcement measures will be implemented to prevent any unfair practices. Live data will be shared with the respective Superintendents of Police (SP) and Collectors, ensuring 100% strong enforcement and adherence to Election Commission guidelines.”
Highlighting the importance of the inter-state border meeting, Raigarh Collector Kartikeya Goel emphasized compliance with the Election Commission of India’s directives. “We exchanged checklists with neighboring districts, focusing on standard operating procedures and protocol information. The systematic exchange of information between Odisha and Chhattisgarh border districts lays the groundwork for free and fair elections.”
Chaired by Northern Range IG Himanshu Kumar Lal, the meeting included key law enforcement officials such as Ashutosh Singh (Superintendent of Police, Sarangarh-Bhilaigarh), Mukesh Bhamoo (SP, Sambalpur), Parmar Smit P Das (SP, Jharsuguda), Pratyush Diwaker (SP, Sundargarh), Prahlad Sahai Meena (SP, Bargarh), Deepak Mishra (Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Raigarh), and Vinod Kumar (Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Jashpur) alongwith District Election Officers (DEO) and Collectors from neighboring bordering districts, including Kumar Lal Chouhan (Sarangarh-Bhilaigarh), Kartikeya Goel (Raigarh), Dr. Gavali Parag Harshad (Sundargarh), Aboli Sunil Naravane (Jharsuguda), Aditya Goyal (Bargarh), and Jitendra Yadav (CEO ZP, Raigarh), participated in the meeting.
