700 Students participated in Jharsuguda Inter-School Sports Competitions
Jharsuguda: Jharsuguda District Education Department organised inter-school sports competitions in Khokho, Kabaddi, and football from September 30 to October 2 at BD High School in Bagmara, Kolabira block.
About 700 contestants from 14 and 17th grade boys and girls and 60 physical education teachers and students participated in the competition from different blocks of the district. The competition was held under the direct supervision of physical education teacher Bimal Kumar Tandi.
The top 126 contestants from the competition will participate in the state-level competition to be held in Anugul on October 23.
District Education Officer Pushpa Minj said that the inter-school sports competitions were organised to promote sportsmanship and physical fitness among the students. She also said that the state-level competition will provide an opportunity for the selected contestants to showcase their skills and compete with the best in the state.
The competitions were inaugurated by Additional District Education Officer Pradeep Kumar Sa and Kolabira Block Education Officer Satyabrat Sahu. The graduation ceremony was held on October 2 and was attended by District Education Officer Pushpa Minj and other dignitaries.
The event was a success and received a positive response from the students and parents.
