Cyber Helpline 1930 Launched in Odisha to Assist Fraud Victims

Bhubaneswar:ďż˝ Odisha government has launched a 24-hour cyber helpline for fraud victims. The Crime Branch and the Odisha Police collaborated to start the helpline, which has the number 1930.

The trained police officers who staff the helpline will offer victims of cyber fraud immediate assistance. They will help victims get their money back by blocking the transaction.

The helpline can be contacted from anywhere in Odisha. To avail themselves of the helpline, victims must dial 1930 and provide relevant information about the fraud. The police personnel will then take immediate action to track the money trail and block the transaction.

Director General of Police Sunil Bansal inaugurated the helpline on Tuesday. He said that the helpline would be a major deterrent against cyber fraud and a relief to the victims.

The Crime Branch also gave a presentation on its preparations for combating cyber crime. The presentation highlighted the various measures that the crime branch has taken to prevent and investigate cyber crime.
