Inter state Gang Busted by Jharsuguda Town Police

Jharsuguda :  Jharsuguda Town police on Friday arrested ten members of an inter-State gang, involved in several looting and dacoity cases.

As per the police officials, They were plotting to commit dacoity, in a room at newly constructed Bus stand located near Jamadarpada under Jharsuguda Town police limits, when police nabbed them. Police also seized a pistol, a live ammunition, three swords, six iron rods, one torch light, seven masks,  a laptop bag and cash Rs. 44,560 /- from their possession.

Jharsuguda SDPO K.C. Acharya said of the out of ten arrested persons, seven hailed from West Bengal, one from Madhya Pradesh and two from Jharsuguda.  The accused have been identified as Dilip Rajbanshi (48) , Tangna Naidu (40) , Ravi Mudaliyar (38) , Kartik Mali (50), Goutam Singh (30) , Kishore Mudaliyar (35), Chandu Mali (30), all from Hoogly District in West Bengal, Manish Maurya (26), Kunal Banchor (22) of Jharsuguda and Vimlendra Kumar Dwivedi (21) from Madhya Pradesh.

This gang was involved in several cases registered under various police station of Odisha including Sambalpur, Puri, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Jharsuguda etc.

Jharsuguda SDPO K.C Acharya said that The gang was wanted in two cases of Jharsuguda. The gang members recently targeted a bank customer outside the bank near Sarbahal, where the gang members had dropped Currency notes on the ground and had deviated the customer’s mind in collecting the dropped currency notes and had fled away with their money. Based on credible information, we nabbed them when they had assembled again at Jharsuguda to commit a dacoity near Jamadarpada.”
