Jharsuguda: Aboli Sunil Naravane has been appointed as the new Collector of the Jharsuguda District in Odisha, ahead of the upcoming by-election for the Jharsuguda Assembly seat on May 10. The appointment was made by the Odisha government, under Section 20 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 (Act II of 1974).
Naravane, a 2015-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, previously served as the Collector and District Magistrate of Sonepur. She replaces Saroj Samal as the new Collector of Jharsuguda district.
The by-election for the Jharsuguda Assembly seat was necessitated after the murder of sitting MLA and Health Minister Naba Das on January 29.
