National Energy Conservation day Celebrated by OPGC
B Thermal : National Energy Conservation day has been celebrated at OPGC’s IB Thermal Power Station on 14th December. A number of activities were organized on this occasion with the objective of creating awareness on the importance of energy conservation amongst employees, their spouses and school students of ITPS Township.
This campaign saw a large participation in events such as Painting competition and Energy conservation awareness programme for school Students, Quiz competition & energy conservation awareness programme for Ladies, slogan competition and energy conservation awareness programme for employees etc.

Painting competition for School Children

Quiz competition for ladies

2nd position – Mr Ranjay Kumar, MGR
3rd Position – Mr Akhila Satapathy, Civil
As a special invitee of the awareness programme, Addl. Director of Petroleum Conservation Research Association(PCRA), Eastern Region Sri Pradeep Kumar Panda spoke on the importance of energy consumption and its use in our day-to-day life, its scarcity and its impact on the sustainability of global ecosystems. Winners of the various competitions were rewarded by Director(Operations) Manas Ranjan Rout in the closing ceremony held in the afternoon, in the presence of Plant Manager (OPGC-1) Sri Sudhakar Swain, Head (Engineering) Ms Madhumita Soren and other senior OPGC officials.
