Two held for misappropriation of 40 MT Iron Rods

Jharsuguda : Badmal police on Friday arrested two persons for misappropriation of 40 MT of irons rods from a Jharsuguda based transporter.

Police identified the accused as Md. Aftab Ansari (35) a resident of Madhuban, East Champaran ( Bihar) and Rakesh Kumar (39) a resident of Muzaffarpur (Bihar)

As reported, based on a complaint filed by one Damodar Nath (42), who is an authorized transporter of SMC Power Generation Ltd. of Hirma, On 29th September, he hired a truck bearing no. BR06GD – 5849 from one Binay Tiwari of Mridul Road Carrier of Sambalpur to transport 40.940 MT costing around 22,32,769 from SMC Pant II to Azmatgarh, Uttar Pradesh, When the truck did not reach the destination the complainant contacted the truck owner Md. Aftab Ansari and driver Rakesh Kumar, However, they both told that the truck has been seized by Finance Company and after finance clearance, they will reach to the destination. On 15th October, when complainant again contacted the driver, who disclosed that the owner has sent another driver namely Munna Pandey, who had already delivered the iron rods to the destination. But the vehicle had not delivered the irons rods to the destination. The complainant suspected that the vehicle owner and his driver had misappropriated the loaded iron rods by committing criminal conspiracy and had lodged the company to Badmal Police station.

During the investigation, Badmal Police arrested the two accused including the truck owner Md. Aftab Ansari from East Champaran (Bihar) and another accused Rakesh Kumar from Adarsh gram under Muzaffarpur, Bihar and seized the truck along with 18 MT of TMT bar iron rods from their possession and forwarded it to court.
