Jharsuguda: Â A 39-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her house at Bijunagar on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Poonam Wadekar (39) living with her husband in a rented accommodation at Bijunagar.
Jharsuguda SDPO Nirmal Mohapatra said, On 14th July, Poonam had consumed poison after a fight with her husband and was taken to Jharsuguda District Headquarter hospital and after treatment, she was discharged and was staying with her younger sister at Purunabasti. Later, her husband had brought her back home, but on Friday, she complained of uneasiness, her husband took her to Samleswari hospital and there she was given saline after which she was brought home.
On Saturday, when her husband tried to wake her, but she didn’t respond. Her husband informed her younger sister and her father’s home. The younger sister had filed a complainant at Jharsuguda Police station that her husband had tortured her sister because of which she has died. Based on the complainant filed by the younger sister, a case has been registered at Jharsuguda Town Police station under section 498,302 IPC. We have called the scientific team for collecting evidence. As they were married just two years ago. As per law, we had called an Executive Magistrate and conducted a Panchnama. We have sent the dead body for post mortem, and based on the post mortem report we would know the exact reason for her death.”
