Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das reviews various railway projects at Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda : Odisha health and Family Welfare Minister and Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kishore Das and Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari on Wednesday reviewed various Railway projects including Railway over bridge to be built at Chowkipara.

The meeting was also attended by Vijay Kumar Sahu, Divisional Railway Manager, Chakradharpur Division, South Eastern Railway.  

Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das said, “Today, Divisional Railway Manager CKP Division along with Chief Engineer Kolkata had arrived and took part in this review meeting. We had discussed on the various railway projects of Jharsuguda railway station. In this meeting even Member of Parliament Suresh Pujari was present. The main issues were Railway Over Bridge at Chowkipara and Ghanshyam Hemlata School. Along with the Land Lease issue of existing Bus stand and also various development work at Ward No. 23 and 24. Very soon you will see a new Railway Station at Jharsuguda and various developmental work. DRM has assured for completion of the project. if needed we will also ask the State Government to speak to Central Government also in this regard. They have assured that within two years the new railway station of Jharsuguda will be completed with an estimated cost of more than Rs. 200 Cr.”

Vijay Kumar Sahu, DRM, CKP Division, SE Railway said, “The meeting was between State Govt. Railway and District administration. In this meeting, we discussed various railway related problems like Station Development, Good Shed, Railway Colony. Jharsuguda has been developed and the railway line is one of the old.  We have given a lease to Bus stand, which is around 2.8 Acres, from the year 2002 onwards the money has not been deposited, however, I will look into it and renew it.  I want to inform you that we have already opened three new Public Good Shed. The proposed New Railway Station of Jharsuguda will be constructed. It will be a Grand Railway station as this is the first station of Odisha if we come from the Chhattisgarh side. The present main Railway station will also remain along with the new Parking facility. On the other side of the Railway Station where there is the office of ADEN, it will all be broken and huge grand railway station with approx. 70,000 Sq. Mtr. will be constructed with an expense of Rs. 70 -80 Cr. from which already 12 Crores work has been going on.  Apart from this, there will be Platform Extension of Platform No. 2 & 3, New platforms 6, 7, 8 will come up. Around five Railway lines will come up on Platform no. 1 side and three railway line will come on Platform 7 side.  A big addition will take place in the Yard. The work for the third Line is already going on from Bilaspur Division and even another second Bridge is constructed on IB.”
