One Arrested for Murder of Truck Driver near Grindola Village


Jharsuguda: A 19-year-old has been arrested for allegedly murdering a truck driver on Belpahar-Hemgir road under Lakhanpur Police Station Limits on Tuesday.

Lakhanpur Police identified the accused as Md. Irsad (19), a resident of Khaidapada, Belpahar and deceased was identified as Manu Sa (35), truck driver, a resident of Raigarh (Chhatisgarh)

As per report, On 17th December, a dead body of an unknown person, whose hands and legs were tied was found on Belpahar-Hemgir road near Grindola Village under Lakhanpur police station Limits. The dead bodys head was crushed to erase the identity of the person.

Lakhanpur Police lodged a case and started its investigation, later it was revealed the accuse Md. Irshad was working in a Tyre shop where he got familiar with several truck drivers. Later he along with other truck drivers together hatched a conspiracy to steal a truck and earn money. On 16th December at night 10-11pm he along with others had stopped a truck driver Manu Sa, the victim on pretext taking a lift and after going a few meters, they stopped the truck and had hit, the victim Manu Sa on his head with an iron rod, due to which he was senseless and after that they tied his hands and legs and threw him on road and crushed his head to hide the identity of his. Later they hide the Trailor Truck with No. (CG13LA 4557) inside a Jungle on pretext to sell it off.

Jharsuguda SP Rahul PR said, A dead body of an unknown person was found near Grindola Village under Lakhanpur Police station Limits. A case was registered. The dead body had several injury marks. The deceased was a Raigarh based Truck Driver, the accused had murdered the deceased truck driver. As per the investigation, the main motive behind the murder was that steal the truck. They abducted the truck near Chhattisgarh and Sundargarh Bordering area and had murdered the victim near Grindola village in Jharsuguda District. Later they had hidden the truck inside a Jungle, which was recovered. The accused is being forwarded to court. Presently, the investigation is going on.
