Auto drivers association submits memorandum demanding to keep their Auto at New Bus stand

Jharsuguda: The auto drivers’ community serving passengers at the New Bus Stand near the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) has raised concerns regarding their operations after being unexpectedly asked to vacate the area.

In a statement, the community expressed their commitment to providing services to guests arriving at the bus stand, despite facing challenging working conditions such as long waiting hours and a dusty environment. “When the New Bus Stand services began, we, the auto owners and drivers, were requested to begin our operations here. Initially, business was minimal, but we stayed committed to serving the passengers, ensuring their transportation to various parts of Jharsuguda, while earning a livelihood for our families,” they stated.

However, the community expressed surprise and confusion when, on November 20, 2024, they were instructed to leave the New Bus Stand area. The reasons for this sudden decision remain unclear, causing distress among the auto drivers who rely on this location for their daily income.

The community has humbly requested the authorities to address the issue and organize their services in a structured manner, ensuring their livelihoods are not disrupted. “We sincerely hope that the District Authorities will consider our situation, and we assure you that we will adhere to all the rules and regulations set forth,” they added.

The auto drivers’ community hopes for a positive resolution and their families look forward to the authorities’ support in this matter.
