Jharsuguda: Childline Jharsuguda conducted an awareness meeting at ICDS (Rural)office, Jharsuguda. In this meeting, Anganwadi workers and ICDS Supervisors had participated. Centre Coordinator of Childline Ashish Kumar Panda explained about the prohibition of child marriage act, demerits of child marriage and punishment of child marriage. He also highlighted how to prevent child marriages. Childline Jharsuguda has prevented 3 child marriage in the year 2018,6 child marriage in the year 2019 and totals 14 child marriage till the day of the year 2020 with the support of district administration.
He also requested that if they get any information regarding child marriage in their area or locality, then they should inform to Childline toll-free no 1098. Then CDPO cum CMPO Suprava Mahapatra discussed the roles of Child marriage prohibition officer. She also instructed Anganwadi workers that how they prevent the child marriage and make the child marriage free Jharsuguda block. In this regard, Leaflets distributed to participants after the completion of the meeting.
