Jharsuguda : On the occasion of International Girl Child Day, Eita Jeevana Bhi organised a contest at Purna. Various competitions such as jhoti, rangoli, music chairs were held to encourage the girl children. More than 20 girls had participated in the event. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners of all competitions were awarded. The parents were made aware about the importance of the girl child. They learnt that girls are more important than boys in many ways.
Before, the event was celebrated by the government every year. However, due to COVID-19, this year the responsibility of the program was given to EJV foundation, which was fully compiled with the COVID-19 guidelines. Such as social distancing, wearing masks and maintaining less numbers of people. DCPO Sunanda Maharana was invited as the chief guest. President Manasi Panda, coordinator Renu Tiwari, Legal Advisor Kavita Nayak, associate coordinator Swayamprabha Dash, Adviser Antaryami Panigrahi and Spokesperson Nikunj Bihari Mishra officiated the event.
