66th Wildlife Week Celebration

Jharsuguda : 66th Wildlife week , celebrated between 2nd October to 8th October concluded at Jharsuguda on Thursday at Jharsuguda Eco Park.

In the closing Ceremony, Jharsuguda District Collector Saroj Kumar Samal was the chief guest of the function along with presence of Jharsuguda Divisional Forest Officer Lalit Kumar Patra and Project Director, DRDA, Tapiram Majhi, Assistant Conservator of Forest Basil Barla and Assistant Conservator of Forest Sasmita Sahoo, Prahallad Nayak along with others were present in the closing ceremony.

On this occasion, Jharsuguda Dist. Collector Saroj Kumar Samal said, “The importance of holding this Wildlife Week is to promote and create awareness among each and every people specially the children’s who has to understand the importance of conservation of wild life and environment.  They should know how to protect our environment to keep our mother earth green and safe.”

Simultaneously, during this Wildlife Week Celebration, Jharsuguda Forest Division had organised a  Click-a-bird online Photography contest, among which one Jill Patel of Aaparna World School was awarded as first prize while one Aryan Mohapatra of BEM School, Belpahar was awarded as second whereas Om Patel of Aurobinda School , Jharsuguda  and Shraddhanjali Nahak of OPM Girls High School , Brajrajnagar has been jointly awarded as third.  

Additionally, Ranjit Upadhyay , The Animal Rescuer of Jharsuguda has been felicitated as Biju Patnaik Award for his service towards animal rescue. He was also given awarded of Rs 5,000.
