BJP fact-finding team visits Ash dumping sites in Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda : A fact finding team of State Bharatiya Janta Party visited various Ash Dumping sites of Jharsuguda District on Wednesday.
The Team which was led by former Kuchinda MLA Rabi Narayan Naik included Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari, Sundargarh MLA, Kusum Tete, Birmitrapur MLA Shankar Oram, Rengali MLA Nauri Nayak, Tandkadhar Tripathy, (State Secretary, BJP).
The Team had visited Ash Dumping Site at Phatamal Area situated at Ward no. 9 under Jharsuguda Municipality, Sripura Village and Katikela Village
While speaking to Media, MP Pujari said that, “It a very pathetic situation. When Vedanta Ltd.(Aluminium Industries) when it was setup, the local people had various expectation like employment and economic growth but after twenty years the company has proved to be a curse for the people here Entire Jharsuguda district has been adversely affected by the pollution of various industries.
Even the company is dumping Ash on the land meant for Cattle grazing. Under this circumstance How a Cattle grazing Land is been provided for Ash Dumping? , he questioned. even neighbouring villages and river Ib has been badly affected due to faulty management of ash. The ash is flowing into the river IB and polluting the water. a BJP Top Level delegation team including Rabi Nayak and others will be visited all the Ash Dumping Sites and we will prepare a report and based on the report, we will fight in every forum against the Vedanta Ltd. Company.”
On the contrary, BJD leader Jogesh Singh held a press conference at Jharsuguda and stated that they had also visited Ash Pond of NTPC Darlipali in Sundargarh and questioned BJP, Who provides NOC for the Ash pond and industry. It is BJP led central government is formulating the laws for setting up industries. He also questioned Why BJP is not raising questions when Public Sector Units flouts the norms? He also questioned Why Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari is not raising this issue in parliament and changing the law. They are just doing politics.”
