BJD workers staged Dharna in front of IOCL Bottling Plant


Jharsuguda: Today more than 100 BJD workers had protest against the IOCL Bottling Plant located at OMP, Jharsuguda. This protest was done regarding issue of local employment. BJD workers had gathered in front of the IOCL main gate and had closed the gate and staged a Dharna since morning 8 a.m. onwards.
BJD have blamed the Company officials that they are not emphasizing on the Local employment more over the company is hiring people from outside. BJD has specifically mentioned 3 employees who have been employed within May, June and July 12. i.e. Pawan Kumar Shaw , Bamdev Murmu , Sudhir Pattnaik appointed as Junior Chargeman(F) (Operation) .
On the other hand the 20 local contract workers, who have been employed with the company since 5th June 2002, have blamed the Plant Manager Mr. K. P. Jena for not granting them as a permanent employee of the company.
In this regard the local contract workers had also handed over a memorandum to the Collector for taking necessary action against the company and demanded that the newly appointed employees can be sent to some other place as per the company wish.
However, when PBD tried to contact Plant Manager Mr. K.P. Jena, he refused to meet and comment on this issue.
Ex-Chairman Tapas Ray Choudhwary, Trinath Goel, Ravi Singh, Munna Sharma, Rajeev Sakunia , Atmaram Patel , Tarun Patel , Prabhat Patel, Manmohan Singh, Suru Mohapatra along with several BJD leaders were present in this protest.
