Jharsuguda Sub Inspector Succumbs to COVID19
Jharsuguda : A 41 year old Police sub inspector, who was earlier tested COVID19 positive, died in the COVID19 Hospital on Tuesday, making him the first casualty from the force in the district.
Sub Inspector Raj Kishore Samad, was attached to the Badmal Police station of Jharsuguda district and was actively engaged in COVID duty. The Sub Inspector, was a diabetic and was undergoing treatment at the COVID Hospital after he tested positive.
According to reports, Samad was infected by the virus on 17th August and then admitted to dedicated COVID Hospital. Later, he was also treated with the plasma therapy, however he breathed his last on Tuesday.
Later in the day, his last rites were performed by the District Administration. at H. Kantapali with all police honours. He leaves behind his mother, his wife and six-year-old girl child. He belonged from Mahiskudar village of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. �
Till Now, Jharsuguda District has reported 2078 COVID Positive cases till now , among which 852 Cases are still Active where as 1225 has a recovered while two death �till now (including this death case of Sub Inspector).
Jharsuguda District Collector Saroj Kumar Samal said, “During the fight of COVID19 pandemic in our district. A sub-inspector of Badmal Police Station, Raj Kishore Samad had got infected during the COVID duty and was getting treatment at Jharsuguda COVID Hospital. he was even on Ventilator for few days but in-spite of all efforts from the doctors and medical team, he has lost his life. It�s a great loss and moment of grief for District and Police administration. Because of these COVID warriors we were able to put a control in the rise of COVID cases in our district. We pay tribute to him and also pray for his family in this moment of grief.”
Jharsuguda Superintendent of Police Rahul PR said, ” Our COVID Warrior Sub Inspector Raj Kishore Samad of Jharsuguda Dsitrict made the supreme sacrifice. He was posted in Badmal Police Station and was in the forefront of the fight against COVID19. He was tested Corona Positive around 2 weeks back and was admitted to District COVID Hospital and succumbed to respiratory complications Tuesday afternoon. A Native of Mayurbhanj District, the 41 year old Officer Joined Odisha Police in 2011. He will remain a beacon of inspiration for his colleagues for years to come.”
