Six of truck dacoit gang nabbed�
Jharsuguda:�Badmal Police arrested six members of an inter-district dacoit gang, allegedly involved in looting trucks carrying iron rods. They were forwarded to court on Tuesday
The six accused including the driver and helper of the truck were identity as Jitu Kumar Sahu (30), a resident of Malehipada of Deogarh (Driver), Subhas Ch. Sahu (27), a resident of Khandabar of Angul (Helper), Babuli Mohanty (31), a resident of Bajrakot of Angul ,��Kastu Chandra Pradhan (35)and Dihren Biswal (32) both a resident of Bhaliabeda of Angul. Even the receiver of the stolen goods, Sandip Ku. Sahu (29), a resident of�Injidi�of Angul were arrested
As per police, On receiving a complaint from Damodar Nath, owner of a transport company�Dambodar�Enterprises. It was learnt that on 25th July, Iron rods of 32.130 MT worth 13.51 Lakhs were loaded from SMC Power Generation Ltd.,�Hirma�Village under Jharsuguda to�Srikant Enterprises of Bhubaneswar in a truck regd. no.�OD 04M-0086, but the truck did not reach on 27th July at its destination (Bhubaneswar). Later, the truck was found to be parked at Jajpur.
After registering a case, Badmal police started its investigation. Badmal police seized the truck from Jajpur and arrested six peoples including the truck driver, helper. Subsequently, even the receiver of the goods was arrested and 32.130 MT��iron rods were seized from him.
Jharsuguda SDPO Kailash Chandra Acharya said�that ” A team lead by Badmal IIC Amitav Panda had tracked the culprit and recovered�the iron rods which were already sold and seized the truck, which was left at around 200 kilometres away Jajpur to confuse police.�We are also verifying the involvement of the nabbed culprits in other police station as well. “
