5 best Netflix Originals Indian Web Series not to be missed

1. Scared Games

Netflix popular show Scared Games is considered as one of the ever-changing web series in Indian content. I think most of the people have already memorised the dialogue of Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawaz Siddiqui) “Aapunich Bhagwan hai”. If you haven’t seen it yet, should be probably in your bucket list.
The show starrer Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Kalki Koechlin, Pankaj Tripathi and Ranvir Shorey in the leading role of Season one and two. The storyline of the show revolves around an immediate terror attack in Mumbai. Sartaj Singh ( Saif Ali Khan) an honest police officer in Mumbai cell receives a call from the notorious gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui)who tells him to save the city within 25 days. Sartaj digs his past as to what made him a powerful gangster and the plot simultaneously talks about the present which includes the religious games played by various political figures.

The series is based on Vikram Chandra’s 2006 Novel of the same name. It is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap who produced it under their banner Phantom Films.

2. She

Imtiaz Ali first attempt in creating something out of the box for the female-centric. The plot of the show depicts the journey of a lower-middle female constable who goes undercover to bust an underworld gang. Aaditi Pohankar as Bhumika Pardeshi ( Female constable) has been recruited in the Anti- Narcotics Group to fight against a major drug Mafia. As a part of the mission, Bhumika gets dressed to roam in the by-lanes of Mumbai city. The show depicts the idea that a woman’s body can work well to control her surroundings. The series stands out because of its brilliant performances. Directed by Arif Ali and Avinash Das under production house Window Seat Films, the series stars Aaditi Pohankar, Vijay Varma and Vishwas Kini.

3. Delhi Crime

Delhi’s Most shocking and heart-wrenching rape incident in India’s capital city. The 2012 Nirbhaya rape case has shaken Delhi including the whole country. People were coming out on the streets for justice to Nirbhaya and there was tremendous pressure on the government as well as the Delhi Police. The incident has received also international attention at that time because of the brutality of the crime.

Filmmaker Richie Mehta takes you behind the scene of much pressurise and crucial investigation by the Delhi police. The series navigates through the bureaucratic pressures, political influences, and lack of resources faced by the Delhi Police during the investigation period. The series follows the story in the aftermath of the gang rape, where Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vartika Chaturvedi (Shefali Shah) is tasked to find the culprits responsible for the assaults and death of the Nirbhaya.

4.Little things

Little things is an Indian Web television series by Pocket Aces. It features Mithila Palkar and Dhruv Sehgal in the lead roles. It first premiered on Pocket Aces’ channel Dice Media in October 2016 with five episodes Later, Netlfix purchased the franchise and its second season, premiered on Netflix on 5 October 2018 and its third season was released on 9 November 2019 by Netflix.

The story is based on the young couple Kavya (Mithila Palkar) and Dhruv (Dhruv Sehgal) who lives together in Mumbai. The series is about all small moments, fights and conversation between the couple. What’s special in this web series is that it’s very light-hearted, yet relevant and relatable. The small moments between Mithila and Dhruv will make you think and realize how you can still be together and happy in day to day busy schedule life.

5.Ghoul

Ghoul is an Indian Horror web series based on the Arab folklore monster Ghoul. The story is set in India in a dystopian future where fascism is at its top, Radhika Apte, a military officer who is interrogating a terrorist Ali Saeed in a secret government camp that ignites a series of horrifying and supernatural events in the aftermath.
