Jharsuguda: For early detection of COVID positive patients in every district, Odisha Health Department will set up COVID Hospital in each and every district of Odisha. This was informed by Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das on Tuesday at Jharsuguda
Informing Media he said that, this will be set up with the support of various private medical institutes in war footing basis at all districts. Apart from other districts, This COVID Hospital will be also set up in Sambalpur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh district also.
Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das on Tuesday had a meeting with the officials of CARE and Vikas Hospital at Jharsuguda Collectorate for setting up COVID Hospital. In Jharsuguda, two proposed site locations, i.e. Black Diamond College of Engineering and Technology, Malimunda and Jawahar Navodaya School at H. Kantapali has been identified for setting up of COVID hospital.
He also added that he had spoken to Central health minister through Video Conference and have requested him for an immediate supply of Personal protective equipment (PPE), Mask and other related items for Odisha.
Additionally, he also informed that the SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack is now allowed to conduct COVID-19 Test.
He also added that novel coronavirus tests are currently being done at Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) and the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. The state government has requested the Ministry to allow the tests to be conducted in more government and private medical college and hospitals for the early identification and treatment of the patients.
