Jharsuguda : Spicejet Airline, will launch its daily direct flight operations from Jharsuguda to Mumbai Route from coming 28th March 2020. This was informed by Jharsuguda Airport Director Sudesh Kumar Chauhan.
“Coming Summer Schedule will have many changes. Spicejet Airlines which use to start from Kolkata, it will start from Hyderabad-Jharsuguda-Kolkata. Additionally, Spice jet will launch its daily direct flight operation from Jharsuguda to Mumbai. This aircraft will be Boeing 737, type Aircraft, which will operate under RCS (UDAN) Scheme. ” Said Jharsuguda Airport Director Sudesh Kumar Chauhan
In the month of November 2019, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had requested Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri to include direct flight between Jharsuguda � Mumbai.
The Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2018, is one of the busiest airports under the Centre�s flagship UDAN scheme. Jharsuguda airport now connects major destinations such as Delhi and Kolkata, besides Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad and Raipur.
Flight operations from Jharsuguda airport started on March 31 last year. While private carrier SpiceJet operated flight from Jharsuguda to cities like New Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata, regional operator Alliance Air run flights to Raipur and Bhubaneswar.
