Jharsuguda : Badmal Police on Thursday arrested four persons for allegedly cheating many job aspirants with the promise of providing jobs in various industries present in Jharsuguda.
Police identified the four accused as Jayant Rajak (30) a resident of Edelbera village under Ghatshila Police station in Jharkhand, Trupti Mahanada alias Ranjan Mahanada (24), a resident of Brajrajnagar, Pralaya Nanda (52), a resident of Kesinga of Kalahandi and Maheswar Pattnaik (40) of Rampur village under Kalahandi
As per the Badmal police, Based on the complaint filed by one Sunil Kumar Singh (26), a resident of Kalahandi, that accuse Ranjan Mahanada and Jayant Rajak had contacted him over the phone to provide a job in Vedanta Ltd. for which the accused demanded a sum of Rs.40,000. On 28th July, the complainant had first given Rs.25,000 to them near the Main gate of Vedanta Ltd., at Bhurkhamunda, Jharsuguda.
Later the accused persons again demanded Rs. 12,000 and directed him to deposit in SBI otherwise his candidature will be cancelled. Fearing of job cancellation, the complainant again deposited the cash of Rs. 12,000 in State Bank of India (SBI) an account in the name of the accuse Jayant Rajak on 29th July 2019. After the payment, the accused had asked to join the company on 16th August 2019 but later after not getting any response from them, a complaint was filed on 17th August in Badmal Police station.
Badmal Police station IIC Amitav Panda said, “Based on the complaint, we were able to nab four persons red-handed while they were taking money from the job aspirants on 21st August at about 5 pm in front of the main gate of Vedanta Ltd. and seized Rs. 54,000 from their procession along with the seizure of four mobiles phone, Bio-data’s of 50 job aspirants, the banner of Hi-tech PR company and one Maruti Swift Dzire car bearing no. OD23H-5117. “
