First Import Consignment arrives at Multimodal Logistics Park (Concor) Jharsuguda

JHARSUGUDA :  The First import consignment on Friday arrived at Odisha’s first Multimodal Logistics Park of Container Corporation of India Ltd (Concor), at Jharsuguda.

This first import consignment containing Scraps of Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited arrived at the Multi-Modal logistics park from Vishakhapatnam Port.  

Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLP) is the key policy initiative of the Government of India to improve the country’s logistics sector by lowering overall freight costs, reducing vehicular pollution and congestion, and cutting warehousing costs.

The Park was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi  15th January 2019 through video conferencing when he had visited Bolangir to inaugurate many developmental projects.

Jharsuguda’s Multi-Modal Logistics Park can handle 4 to 6 trains per month with numerous facilities like Custom Clearance facilities, Full-length double railway line, Warehouse of 10,000 Sq. Ft. , Parking yard, Banking options etc.

Jharsuguda Container  Corporation of India Limited’s Assistant Manager, Amol Narayan said that” After inauguration by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the first import consignment has arrived at our facility in Jharsuguda on Friday. The consignment has been imported by Shyam Metalics And Energy Limited.  Being the first Multi-Modal logistics park of Odisha  with having facilities of handling Export-Import (EXIM) and Domestic Cargo including Private Freight Traffic, it will boost the logistics demands of the industrial house present in the entire Western Odisha and its adjoining areas. In coming days, this Multi-Modal Logistics Park of Jharsuguda  will be established as a prime logistics hub in Odisha and boost ease of doing business in the State.”
