Air Odisha conducts Test run of its flight at Jharsuguda Airport.
Jharsuguda: A Test Flight was successfully completed by the Air Odisha on Friday afternoon at Jharsuguda Airport. The service provider Air Odisha is scheduled to start its operation from Jharsuguda airport within the first week of coming July.
Air Odisha, which happens to be a joint venture of the Gujarat State Export Corporation Limited (GSEC), the Monarch Group and Air Deccan and has been awarded 50 routes across different states in the country under UDAN Regional Connectivity Scheme. The airline has the single largest share of the routes under the scheme.
Earlier the service provider, Air Odisha had announced to starts its flight operations from Jharsuguda Airport by 15th June and had also taken booking for its flights, but due to certain technical issue the flight operation has been delayed and are expected to start by the first week of July.
As per the Air Odisha Spokesperson, Santosh Pani said that” We have successfully conducted the test run of three flights on Friday, as per the requirement by the Airport Authority. We will send the reports to the concerned department. Once it will be approved then we can start our flight Operation. Presently the IFR approval (Instrument flight rules – a procedural approval of the lighting system by which the landing of aircraft can be done in low visibility) is pending.� Once the IFR approval is done then we can start its operation.� We are expecting that IFR approval will be done very soon and after that, we will start the operations.

“The required instrument for getting IFR approval has already been installed and the process of getting the approval is in pipeline and very soon we would get the IFR approval but the IFR approval is for Category 4C type aircraft,” said S.K. Chauhan, Jharsuguda Airport Director
