Stolen baby rescued within hours

Jharsuguda: Swift and meticulous police action, backed by extensive search by the locals across the Railway colony in Jharsuguda, helped rescue of 2-year-old girl child stolen from a house at Dubling Colony, at wee hours of Wednesday.

As per the reports, the baby, which went missing around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, was reunited with his mother Kavita Prasad, on Wednesday morning.

Deepak Prasad, (37) and his wife Kavita along with four children’s were sleeping in their house at Dubling Colony. At night Kavita had made to sleep with her 2-year-old child name Dibyanka Prasad. But when her husband Deepak got up after 3 a.m. he found that the main door of the house was opened and found a bulb was also missing, and when they released that their child Dibyanka was missing from the house. He immediately alerted the neighbours and simultaneously informed the police and together they made an extensive search in the neighbourhood, after searching for nearly two hours, the two-year-old girl child Dibyanka was found crying nearly 500 metres from her house, at an under construction Building site.

” We had heard the baby crying at night while we were sleeping at night at nearby building but as the nearby place is isolated we thought it may be some spirit or ghost so we did not want to check in night but when we got up in morning we found the girl and had informed the Guard of the construction site who later handed over the child to the family members.” Said Mariyanus Toppo, the construction worker

Govt. Railway Police Officer in charge Debjani Nayak said that” We have received the information about the child missing at 4.40 am. I along with the team had reached the spot and had launched the massive hunt to rescue the child. Finally, the child was traced to a nearby Construction site and handed over to the family members. I think the people who had taken the child had come to the house for a motive of theft, However, he could not find anything he had taken this child and had left it to the under construction site and fled away. We have registered a case and investigating the matter.”
