Four members of inter-state gang arrested
Jharsuguda :�Jharsuguda Town Police on Monday arrested four members of an inter-state gang, who were involved in looting and dacoit case held in the month of September and October of this year, police said today.
The four members of the gang were identified as Petla Debadhanam (36),�Getteti�Pavan (30), Suresh Getteti Ramlu and Petla Samson all are the residents of Perokota Village of� Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh.
As per the police sources, the gang members main modus of�operandi�was to identify and track the Bank customers who had�withdrawn money from the bank. When the Bank victim comes out and by the time he boards his vehicle, the gang members try to deviate the attention of the Bank victim by informing about the fake oil leakage from his vehicle and by the time the victim comes out to check the vehicle engine, while the gang members lift the cash bag from the vehicle and flees from the spot.
Around 18 cases have been registered under various police station of Odisha including Sambalpur, Bargarh, Nuapada, Bhubaneswar, Patnagarh, Titlagarh, Bolangir, Khariara etc.
Jharsuguda SDPO Purushottam Sethi said that The gang was wanted in two cases of Jharsuguda which occurred in September and October. In which both bank customer who had withdrawn an amount had been looted by these gangs. Based on the credible information we caught two gang members from Jharsuguda Bus stand on Sunday night and after interrogating them we caught hold of other two associates of this inter-state gang. We suspect, more people are involved in this gang and we are trying to nab them. We have arrested them under section 395 IPC and seized three mobiles, Cash of Rs.50,000, a Hero Honda Hunk bike (OR 23 B 7957) including a Screwdriver and three Mobil packets.
