In anticipation of the upcoming General Elections in 2024, officers in Jharsuguda have undergone comprehensive training to ensure the conduct of free, fair, and transparent elections. The training camp, held at the Conference Room of the District Mineral Fund, witnessed the active participation of officers and officials committed to upholding the integrity of the electoral process.
Addressing the gathering, Additional Dist. Magistrate (General) Brajabandhu Bhoi emphasized the paramount importance of transparency and the successful execution of the electoral process. He urged the officers to carry out their responsibilities diligently to maintain the credibility of the democratic exercise.
Jharsuguda Sub-Collector Kishore Chandra Swain took the lead in providing training on the responsibilities of officers and staff (polling party) who will be deployed during the elections. The session covered various aspects, including the arrangements to be made on the day of the election to ensure a smooth and organized process.
Additional Deputy Collectors Victoria Ekka and Kirmira Additional Tahsildar Takshak Raj Bhitiriya, along with Zilla Parishad PRO (IT) Prasanna Das, conducted training sessions on the management of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs). The officers were briefed on the intricacies of handling these technologies to maintain accuracy and transparency in the electoral process.
Deputy Collector (Election) Prasanna Patel facilitated an interactive session, addressing questions and concerns raised by the officers participating in the training. The collective knowledge-sharing is aimed at ensuring that the officers are well-equipped to handle the various challenges that may arise during the election proceedings.
The training camp saw the presence of numerous officials, including community development officers, tahsildars, revenue inspectors, and other key personnel involved in the electoral process. The inclusive approach reflects the commitment of the district administration to conduct the General Elections 2024 with utmost professionalism and adherence to democratic principles.
