Auto driver Negligence takes life’s of an accident victim
Jharsuguda: After battling for life for about 3 hours, a 28-year-old youth succumbed to his injuries along Sambalpur – Rourkela State Highway following an accident after he was abandoned by the auto rickshaw driver on wee hours of Wednesday.
The deceased identified as Jadab Santra (28), a resident of Mirzapur, Dist. Burdwan, �West Bengal
As per the victim’s colleague Prabir Mallick, �On Tuesday night, Jadab along with two others Prabir Mallick and Subhasis Mallick had reached Jharsuguda from Mirzapur in a Train and had taken an auto from �Jharsuguda Bus stand for Belpahar.
“After having dinner at a hotel, �we three had taken an auto for Belpahar, on the way near �Sukhabandh area, the auto driver who was probably in a drunken state had met with accident with a stationary truck, due to this Jadab had been seriously injured and was bleeding, but instead of taking the victim to the hospital, the auto driver had taken Jadab and Prabir Mallick towards Jharsuguda along with him leaving Subhasis on the spot.”
“After reaching near Jharsuguda, the auto driver had left Jadab and Prabir on the highway and fled away from the spot on pretext of getting a doctor for them, ” he alleged
When Prabir somehow managed to reach the nearest BTM police outpost and after narrating the incident, Jharsuguda Police had taken the Jadab and Prabir to Jharsuguda District Headquarter Hospital where Jadab was declared brought dead.”
“We have received a complaint regarding this, the victims are unable to tell the number of the auto. However, we are investigating the matter said Surjaan Panna, Sub Inspector of Rampur Police Outpost.
