VEDANTA INAUGURATES 1st GREEN ROAD OF JHARSUGUDA
Jharsuguda:� Vedanta inaugurated�the first �Green Road� to Jharsuguda made with Fly Ash on Wednesday. The construction of this road is also towards compliance of RPDAC commitment by Vedanta. With its �Waste to Wealth� initiative the road with the length of 2.3kms from Banjari Village to Sarbhal was constructed utilizing 13,000 MT fly ash as a prime component. The design of the road was done by IIT, Bhubaneswar and the total cost of the road is around Rs 1.88 crores. The road, which will open a comfortable and easy commutation facility for the villagers will be of high significance.
In presence of villagers, Vedanta Officials, the road was inaugurated by Dr. Sitaram Patel, ADM, Jharsuguda. Present on the occasion was Mr. JK Mohanty, Vice-President Power, who represented the organization during the inaugural ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Patel who personally travelled the entire distance of the new road applauded Vedanta�s fulfillment of its commitment and expressed that many such innovative public infrastructure through fly ash is a possibility now .He also added that such efforts will be given full support by the administration and the community.
Representing Vedanta Ltd Jharsuguda, Mr. JK Mohanty thanked the district administration for their support and cooperation and expressed that more and more public infrastructure should include fly ash as key construction input as it is technology of today in waiting.�The general public have expressed that this road will make life a little easier and lauded this effort of Vedanta to ensure this key community amenity.
