Jharsuguda : Members of Young Stars’ Charitable Trust organized an exclusive blood donation camp for women, under Swayamsiddha, for the first time in Jharsuguda. This Camp was organised to encourage women donors in the district.
The camp was inaugurated by Jharsuguda Chief District Medical Officer Dr Jagdish Chandra Barik at hotel prince, Near Station Chowk, Jharsuguda. As this was been organised during the COVID19 pandemic, all aspects of Social distancing and Hygiene norms were maintained at the Venue of Blood Donation Camp.
The organizer, Arabinda Barik said, ” We had been conducting blood donation camp since a long time but for the first time we are conducting Blood Donation Camp exclusively for Women. Our only thought was if men can donate the blood then why not women, so thought to organise this just to encourage Women donors, who generally have fear in their mind and lots of queries regarding donating blood such as if they can donate or not. With this, we had approached Doctor Dr.S. Jojo, Blood Bank Officer and as per her advised the donors had to undergo a Counseling after which they donated the blood. Our main aim was to encourage the Women donor. As per the COVID rule, we have collected around 30 Units of Blood at present.” said Er. Arabinda Barik, President, Young Stars’ Charitable trust
” As a woman, I have donated Blood around 20 times and never felt any weakness etc. So I would request everyone to come and donate blood it will helpful for both Humanity and for health also,” said Smt. Chanchal Dua, An English Lecturer with Black Diamond College.
